Earth Day Ten Frame Mats

Earth Day Ten Frames is a great way for learners to build number recognition, number sense, and one-to-one correspondence.  There are two different ten frame mat styles to choose from.  There are half-sheet mats and whole-page mats.  Each style has mats with a number between 1 and 20, as well as mats with a blank space for number cards to be placed upon them.

If your kids use the mats with a number included, they must identify the number and then count out the correct number of counting chips.  We used little rainbow erasers that my daughter loves!! If your kiddos are using the mats with the blank space, have them pick a number card and place it on the mat.  Next, they identify the number and place the matching number of counters on the ten frame.
