How to Use the Bug Letter Tracing Cards

Use these free letter tracing cards in a variety of ways. You can invite your preschool or kindergarten students to color in the letters, trace them or even rainbow write them.

If your students aren’t quite ready to trace the letters have them color in the letter and say the name. If they are ready for tracing invite your students to trace each letter. For a little added fun and even more practice have your students rainbow write the letter. Rainbow writing is a fun and engaging! Children trace the letter over and over with a different color each time. It creates a neat rainbow of colors within the letter and kids get a ton of practice!

Setting up the Letter Tracing Activity

Setting up this activity requires very little prep. All you need to do is pick a set of letter tracing cards, print and cut them out.

Next, students use crayons color in or trace the letters. If students are rainbow writing the letters they can use 4 to 6 different colors.

Offer your students only a few alphabet tracing cards at a time. This will be more manageable and will prevent them from becoming overwhelmed. I often ask my kids which letters they want to work on.
